Budget motion passes at Queen’s Park

As for the political business at Queen’s Park, the minority Liberal government easily survived a confidence vote on its budget Wednesday; and it’s thanks to the NDP.
The vote was on the budget motion, not the actual budget bill. But the motion passed by a margin of 65-to-36, with only the Tories voting against it. The motion was a matter of confidence that could have triggered an election had it been defeated. But the Premier had lined up NDP support after giving in to several of the party’s demands.
