Rogers officially charged in mother’s murder

A St Catharines man has now been charged with first degree murder in the death of his mother.

Helen Rogers, 76, was attacked in her Geneva Street apartment last Wednesday night. She died the next day.

Richard Rogers, 52, made a brief appearance at the St Catharines courthouse this morning. Rogers, who has a lengthy criminal record, remains in custody.
