Charges to be upgraded in St Kitts death

Niagara Police say charges will be upgraded against a St Catharines man after his mother died in hospital from injuries she suffered earlier this week.
Police were called to a Geneva Street apartment building Wednesday after a 911 caller said they heard a woman screaming for help inside. Helen Rogers, 76, was sent to Hamilton General Hospital, where she died last night.
Her son, Richard Rogers, 52, was arrested and charged with attempted murder yesterday. Homicide detectives say they will upgrade that charge to a murder charge at Rogers’ next court appearance on Tuesday.
They are not saying whether it will be a first or second degree murder charge.
