The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a suspicious fire at a new condo complex in St.Catharines, that caused around $2 Million in damage.

Investigators say the blaze at the condo at Scott Street happened Saturday night.

Witnesses say it filled the skies with a thick cloud of black smoke, that could be seen from kilometres away.

Fire officials say the blaze at the Walkers Creek condominium project was under control by around 7:40 p.m.

The condo was initially scheduled to open in December.
