Search for Barbara Cowsill

The search resumes for a missing 66 year old, Fort Erie woman.

Barbara Cowsill disappeared from her home on Monday February 29. While the Niagara Regional Police have stepped up their efforts, the local community is banding together in hopes of locating the missing mother.

Niagara Regional Police are asking residents near Thunderbay Road and Young Avenue to check their property and any outside buildings or sheds.

Police have also scoured Lake Erie which is only blocks away from Cowsill’s home.

The retired mother of two is believed to be wearing a red coat and blue jeans. she was carrying a purse as well as a fanny pack.

The 66 year old takes medication for depression and borderline personality disorder.

Her family says they are overwhelmed by the amount of support they’ve received from the community.

Niagara Police have followed up on a number of leads but have not gotten any closer to finding Cowsill.

The family however is hopeful she will be found soon.
