CAA launches Worst Roads campaign
The CAA is asking people to vote for Ontario’s worst roads so it can compile a top 10 list to bring to government officials along with recommendations to fix the province’s crumbling roads.
The CAA’s Faye Lyons explained. “We’re in the midst of pothole season and there are many roads across this province requiring significant maintenance. In fact, Ontario’s deferred municipal road, bridge, and highway repair bill has been estimated at $2.8 billion a year.”
The CAA wants the province to spend the tax money collected from drivers at the gas pump to be used on fixing infrastructure problems. The auto club has set up a special website where people can vote for the worst roads in the province.
