Lesbian couple blames discrimination for EI rejection
A same-sex couple in Hamilton who just had a baby together are feeling discriminated against by the federal government.
That’s because they recently applied for employment insurance for the mother who did not give birth to the baby boy. Her bid for three weeks parental leave was denied. They say a heterosexual couple would not have to go through the same they’re going through. Cindy Csordas spoke with the new mothers of baby Joshua and joins us with more.
