Mayor Ford to pay his bills
Toronto Mayor Rob Ford will have to foot his own legal bills for his hard-won fight to keep his job.
An Ontario Court has decided it won’t award any costs in the case. Ford had wanted about $116-thousand from resident Paul Magder, who almost succeeded in having the mayor ousted from office for violating conflict-of-interest laws. Magder argued for no costs, saying he was a public-interest litigant. In its decision, divisional court said Ford succeeded on only one of four appeal grounds.
