Suspicious package at McMaster University

An engineering class at Hamilton’s McMaster University was evacuated Wednesday after a suspicious package was found.

Police say a small electrical device was found in a stairwell in the John Hodgins Engineering Building. A coffee shop in the building was also evacuated. The Hamilton Police “explosives disposal unit” safely removed the package and the area has since reopened. Police say the device was not an explosive.
