A pair of bald eagles nesting in Hamilton’s Cootes Paradise have become parents.

There are now two baby eagles in the area. Officials from the Royal Botanical Gardens say two eggs were hatched over the weekend. The new parents are believed to be the first pair of bald eagles outside captivity to successfully nest on Lake Ontario’s shores. RBG officials are now working to ensure the environment at Cootes is a safe home for the baby eagles. They have set up new trails, and added warning signs, to ensure the new family has lots of space.
