Premier Kathleen Wynne says a bigger casino project like the one Toronto’s proposing has nothing to do with the principal that there should be equitable treatment across the province.

She says the revenue formula that’s used should be the same, and there should be no special deals. “If you’ve got the same formula across the province you’ve got jurisdictions of different size so their casinos will be different size, their revenue will be different, the take will be different so that’s that’s what will create the opportunity that different magnitude community by community.”

“I don’t think that we need to have a special deal for a special jurisdiction or a particular jurisdiction because the size of the jurisdiction will dictate the magnitude of the endeavor.”

Yesterday Niagara Falls mayor Jim Diodati told CHCH News that it doesn’t seem fair if more cash were offered to Toronto for a casino. Currently the Falls falls gets $3 million a year for the Fallsview and Casino Niagara.
