Seven of 29 city of Hamilton Public Works employees who were fired in January, will get their jobs back.

Following the filing of grievances by the Canadian Union of Public Employees, City Manager Chris Murray says talks were held and new information was revealed. Following that, Murray says the city negotiated the re-instatement of seven workers under strict conditions. After surveillance, the city fired 29 employees, claiming city vehicles were used for personal use, full shift pay was claimed for working partial shifts, and city asphalt was sold out of city vehicles. The city of Hamilton is still investigating the incidents.
