Woman poses as student, assaults principal

A bizarre story out of Welland: a woman posing as a high school student has been arrested for assaulting the principal at Eastdale Secondary School.

Niagara Police say this started a couple weeks ago when a woman enrolled as a 15 year old student at Eastdale. District School Board of Niagara spokesperson Brett Sweeney says at that time, the principal had some suspicions about the identity of the student.

On Tuesday she was called to a scheduled meeting with the principal and school resource officer where the woman allegedly assaulted the principal. Diana Seeley, 28, is charged with assault and two counts of breach of probation stemming from an incident in Peel region.

The principal didn’t suffer any injuries but was shaken up by the incident.
