Statue urged to honour Linc

Support is growing for a statue in Hamilton honouring the late Lincoln Alexander.

Almost 450 people have signed an online petition to honour the former Ontario lieutenant governor, and Canada’s first black MP. He died October 19th at the age of 90.

Supporters say a statue would keep Linc in public view as a role model. The plan is to present the petition to city council after it gets 500 signatures, with expectations there would be lots of offers to help cover the cost.
