Veteran Hamilton police officer Douglas Sephton has resigned.

He’s been charged for allegedly drunk driving, domestic violence and 20 Police Services Act charges.

The criminal charges will stand, but his PSA charges will be dropped.

His resignation became effective on September 30th of this year.

He’s been suspended with pay since September of 2010.
