New memorial bench dedicated

In July, a memorial bench dedicated to a 13 year old girl who passed away from leukemia was stolen from Dalewood Middle School. The theft outraged members of the Westdale community – but they channeled their anger into something positive.

Today, a new bench was dedicated in memory of Lauren Packer. Melissa Raftis reports while it may be brand new, this teak bench is already full of memories – a reminder of the young girl who inspired its creation, and the people who came together to help a family that has given back so much to the community.
