Former skating coach charged

A former figure skater and skating coach has been charged with an historic sexual assault.

Police allege 53 year old Kevin Hicks sexually assaulted a 12 year old boy, who was one of his students, between 1983 and 1990.

Hicks is a former national-level figure skater and a former coach with Woodbine Winter Skating Club, Weston Skating Club, Windsor Skating Club and Burlington Skating Club.

He coached figure skating in Burlington, Toronto, Mississauga and Windsor during the ’80s.

Police believe there may be more victims.
