Wage freeze pays for all-day kindergarten: McGuinty

Premier McGuinty is reminding teachers and parents that the government had to make a choice, and says a teacher wage freeze was the obvious way to go to roll out full day kindergarten which is now in its third year.

“I think most teachers understand that we’ve got to make a choice, and we can either put more money into pay hikes, or we can put more money into expanding full day kindergarten….when we expand full day kindergarten that creates more teaching jobs…we can’t protect the education we provide our kids.”

McGuinty made the comments at a school in Toronto.
