LATEST STORIES:
Niagara torso not from Scarborough woman
The autopsy of a torso found in the Niagara River Wednesday has confirmed the woman was murdered.
Niagara Police released the information of the torso being recovered from the water Thursday night, and in that release said the body was identified to not be Guang Hua Liu, the murder victim from Scarborough whose foot, head and other parts were discovered in Mississauga and Toronto.
At a news conference held Friday, investigators say the woman was white, middle-aged and had a pierced navel. It is not clear whether the body may have originated from Canada or the United States.
Anyone with information regarding the possible identity of the woman is asked to contact Niagara Police.
