Video updated Veteran Liberal MPP Greg Sorbara is retiring from politics.

A byelection will be held in Sorbara’s riding of Vaughan, along with the already-announced byelection in Kitchener-Waterloo. That riding became vacant after Progressive Conservative MPP Elizabeth Witmer left in April.

Sorbara is leaving politics to spend more time with his family, however he will stay on as chair of the Liberals’ election campaign.

His resignation leaves the Liberals with 52 seats – one less than the combined Progressive Conservatives and New Democrats.
