Faith-based books distribution stopped
The Hamilton Wentworth District School Board is going to stop distributing faith-based books.
That will end a long tradition of handing out copies of the new testament to grade five students.
Groups like The Gideons International in Canada were previously allowed to pass out the bibles with parental consent.
Bibles and other religious texts will still be available in school libraries.
School boards in Toronto, Peel, Durham and York have already enacted the ban.
