Death at Crystal Beach

It was a tragic end to the weekend in Fort Erie, after someone plunged to their death after falling from a flagpole at Crystal Beach.

There are reports it was a teenage boy who fell onto the rocks below after climbing the 40-foot flagpole at a yacht club on Ridgeway Road, although police have not confirmed the victim’s age.

It’s believed the person then tumbled into the water, yet it’s not clear if he died from the fall or later drowned.

The coroner has been notified, and police are still investigating.
