Hamilton runner named to Olympic team
Updated video Hamilton’s Reid Coolsaet has officially been named to Canada’s Olympic team.
The 32-year-old got the go-ahead to this summer’s London games this morning, when the men’s marathon team was announced in Guelph. It’s the first time since 1996 that three men were named to the team, and no Canadian runner has taken part in an Olympic marathon since 2000.
Coolsaet qualified for the games at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon, running it in just under two hours and 11 minutes.
Also named to the team are Eric Gillis of Nova Scotia and Dylan Wykes of Kingston.
