Auditor: Ornge oversight inadequate

Updated; video added Ontario auditor general Jim McCarter has released his report on Ornge, the province’s air ambulance service.

He’s found that financial oversight was inadequate, adding the operators of Ontario’s air ambulance service made questionable business deals with hundreds of millions of taxpayers dollars. McCarter’s long-awaited report shed some light on the troubled agency, which has been mired in controversy for months. But he says Ornge did not give him access to files on the company’s many subsidiaries.

The provincial government has vowed to implement the auditor general’s findings.
