Canal corpse: foul play ruled out

An autopsy was performed today on the body of a man recovered from the Welland Canal in Thorold.

The body was spotted Sunday afternoon in an overflow basin south of lock seven near the recreational walkway. Police don’t believe the man’s death is suspicious, and do not suspect foul play. The man’s name is not being released.
