New Food Classics closes doors

Employees at the “New Food Classics” plant in St. Catharines were shocked when they arrived at work this morning to find the plant has been locked up.

More than 110 workers were told the plant has closed; the company had been under creditor protection.

New Food Classics announced in late 2010 it was moving to St. Catharines as the Ontario government was
willing to invest $1 million in the company through its rural economic development program.
