Transport truck thief sentenced

The Brampton man who admitted to stealing a flatbed truck, leading police on a six-hour chase across southern Ontario, has received a two-year prison sentence and lifetime driving ban.

Jason Meadus, 40, was sentenced after pleading guilty to several charges, including theft.

He stole the truck in the Niagara Region on Halloween and drove it to London before turning around.

The truck was finally pulled over in Burlington.

Nobody was hurt in the ordeal.
