Sonne back in court on G20 charges
A judge has ruled the trial for a man facing explosives charges linked to last year’s G20 summit can go ahead.
The judge found warrants to search Byron Sonne’s Toronto home were based on credible information.
She also said several statements Sonne made to police were voluntary and admissible.
Sonne’s trial began Monday with an agreed statement of facts that included his purchase of various chemicals.
The 39-year-old was arrested days before the summit, and spent 11 months in jail before being granted bail last May.
