Toronto pedestrian struck and killed

Toronto homicide detectives are looking for witnesses after a 51 year old man was hit by a minivan and killed Thursday morning.

Police say Abdirashid Guled was struck at the intersection of Jane Street and Lawrence Avenue west just after 1am.

Police say he was dragged under the vehicle for a short distance.

Guled was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital, but died a short while later.

Police say he had been knocked onto the street following a fight with two other men, and the driver of the minivan was unable to avoid striking him.
