Car collides with garbage truck

A 21 year old driver had to be cut from his car after it collided with a garbage truck in Hamilton.

Emergency crews were called to Industrial Drive and Depew Street just after 6:30 Tuesday morning.

The man was trapped in his car for almost an hour and fire crews had to cut the roof of the car to free him.

Both he and the driver of the garbage truck were taken to hospital, but are expected to recover.

Police say charges are pending.
