Police are investigating after a woman was stabbed in the back several times while walking between Duke and Bold Streets in Hamilton Thursday night.

The woman says she was walking south on MacNab, toward the escarpment, when she saw a man on the corner of MacNab and Bold.

After she walked past the suspect, she says she was suddenly attacked from behind.

The man stabbed her several times before running away towards Bold.

The woman has wounds on her upper body and head.

She was taken to hospital but has since been treated and released.

Police have release a description of the suspect… he is described as black, approximately 30 years old and six feet tall… he was clean shaven — wearing dark pants — and a black hooded jacket with the hood pulled up over his head.

Police say the stabbing on MacNab is similar in details to another attack that happened Monday night on Sanford Avenue South near King Street.

A man says he was walking along the sidewalk on King Street around 10:45pm when the suspect approached him from behind and stabbed him several times in the back.

The suspect in that incident is described as a black male, approximately six feet tall wearing a three quarter length dark jacket and hooded sweatshirt with the hood up.

Police are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
