Hamilton spy caper
There’s a Hamilton connection to an African spy caper unfolding Monday night.
The owner of Juch-Tech, a telecom company, is calling allegations that his firm had something to do with the scandal unfounded.
Three men in Zimbabwe are accused of using a satellite system provided by the company, to send state secrets to the U.S., Afghanistan and Canada.
The trio is charged with violating Zimbabwe’s secrecy laws.
The head of the company, Walt Juchniewicz, says all he did was provide a satellite dish for internet service.
Foreign Affairs in Ottawa says it knows about the case, but won’t say anything because the case is before Zimbabwe’s courts.
