Hamilton Police are at the scene of a huge grow op in Stoney Creek, that they’ve been dismantling since early this morning.

The gang unit, assisted by the BEAR unit and uniformed officers, carried out a search at 288 Green Mountain Road last night.
Investigators say the grow-op one of the biggest they’ve seen this year, with more than 16,000 plants inside; worth at least $1.5 million. The building is 30,000 square feet and 4,000 of that was dedicated to processing.

A search warrant was also executed neighbouring 286 Green Mountain Road. Police say they uncovered a large cache of cash there. A 31 year old man is now facing charges of cultivation and proceeds of crime over five thousand dollars.

Police say the operation has been going for some time.
