Scabies outbreak in Hamilton

Hamilton public health officials are investigating four outbreaks of scabies – the contagious skin infection caused by a tiny mite at local care facilities.

They say patients and staff have been treated and three of the four outbreaks have been declared over.

Scabies outbreaks are rare in institutional settings.
