Boy, 10, fighting for life after getting run down
A ten year old boy is in critical condition after he was hit by a car Tuesday night on Hamilton Mountain.
Police say the boy was crossing Garth Street near Limeridge road with his bike when a car turning onto Garth hit him.
He ended up trapped under the car.
Jason Simmons lives nearby. He says drivers are always speeding through that intersection to get to the Linc.
“They’ll either cut through the church parking lot to avoid the intersection, or basically just run the light.”
“In fact I think Hamilton could probably reduce its debt problem by putting a red light camera there. They’d probably make a fortune.”
“It was just a matter of time before something like this happened.”
There’s no word yet if any charges will be laid.
The car’s driver is an 82 year old Hamilton woman.
Anyone who saw the collision is asked to call Hamilton Police Detective-Constable Steve Ellis at 905-546-4753.
