Ontario NDP leader Andrea Horwath was urged to do more for locked-out U.S. Steel workers, at a rally Tuesday outside the Hamilton Works.

Horwath was there to pledge solidarity with the workers.
“I know you’re fighting the right fight with so many other workers who have fought it, and I want you to know I’m on your side.”
Horwath says the union needs to fight for security of income when workers retire, and that security comes with a defined benefit plan.
But one union member demanded even more:
“To get that support you’ve got to come down here more give us a report on what’s happening… don’t just come down here for a photo-op.”
That man got even more agitated when another man stepped in to intervene.
“Your name didn’t come up, so don’t get involved, OK?”
“Don’t put on a show.”
“The bottom line is, real simple, there’s no show here, OK? The bottom line is, we support the NDP OK, and we want your support as well.”
Earlier this month, a judge ordered an injunction against the workers who had been picketing on the lift bridge.
900 Workers have been locked out of the U.S. Steel Hamilton Works since November 7th.
