Driver identified in Hamilton crash

Hamilton Police have now identified the man who died in a head-on crash on Hamilton’s east mountain over the weekend.

Carlos Pacheco, 42, was killed when his car crossed the centre line of Nebo Road, hitting a pick-up truck head on. Police say speed was a factor in the incident.

Pacheco’s son is recovering in hospital while two other boys between the ages of 8 and 11, who were in the back seat of the car, were treated and released from hospital. The driver of the truck, a 20 year old man from Smithville, was also treated and released.
