CHCH joins Ontario Red Alert system

Ontario’s new warning system for weather emergencies was introduced Thursday.

The system will alert citizens of a pending disaster through both traditional and social media. CHCH-TV is among the partners at today’s launch, along with Community Safety minister Jim Bradley.

The Red Alert system will notify viewers of weather emergencies, and what they can do to protect themselves.
