It’s been 50 years since the little brothers of Good Shepherd came to Hamilton.

To celebrate, the charitable group held a 50th anniversary breakfast celebration Tuesday morning at Liuna Station.

Executive Director, Brother Richard MacPhee, was the master of ceremony and thanked volunteers and the community for their support.

The group first opened a men’s hostel in Hamilton in 1961.

It now assists thousands of people every year with emergency programs that provide the basic necessities of life like food, shelter and rehabilitative programs.
