Ernie Weeks of long-time local business “Weeks of Waterdown” turned 100 on Tuesday.

The store held a birthday bash for him Tuesday afternoon.

A large birthday cake was served to customers and guests and Mr. Weeks proudly displayed his congratulatory message from Queen Elizabeth while giving out tips for a long life.

The highlight of the celebration was when a Harvard vintage plane from the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum flew overhead.

Mr. Weeks reportedly flew as a bush pilot in a secret project to map the Canadian North in case the Russians attacked after the Second World War.

But he wouldn’t confirm that; he would only say he is a lifetime member of the museum.
