Female officers reach harassment settlement

A secret 11th hour settlement means no examination into the conduct of a Hamilton police sergeant.

Eleven female police officers and one civilian police employee, who all worked under Kevin Dhinsa’s command, accused the sergeant of serial sexual harassment. Dhinsa denied the allegations and claimed the women sexualized the workplace. They dispute that.

A human rights tribunal was set to convene in Toronto today to begin hearing the case. Terms of the settlement are confidential, but the women had originally been seeking $2 million each in damages.
