HAPPENING NOW:

Pain management

It’s something most of us don’t want to discuss, but eventually we all reach the end of life.

Making sure our wishes are met can be challenging, but sometimes it’s the little things that can make a major difference.

Maria Hayes tells the story of Drew Nathan. He was diagnosed with melanoma in 2011, and after a year of alternative treatments he turned to conventional medicine at St. Peter’s Hospital. That’s where he was given a computerized ambulatory drug delivery pain pump, known as a CADD pump.

Drew Nathan’s family wants to be sure CADD pumps are available to anyone who might want one. They are fundraising to purchase 16 for St. Peter’s Hospital. Each pump is priced at just under $6,000.

You can make a donation through Drew’s Facebook page, or to the hospital directly.
