Toronto 2015 director Louise Lutgens says the group wants to get communities’ views on the planning and organizing leading up to the Pan Am games.
“We have 17 municipal partners to help us deliver these games. So it was important to us to have a table or a group where my partners and I could work together and plan, organize, coordinate around the games. We talk a lot about how we are going to reach out to out communites, what are the local issues that they are facing. How will we celebrate together when they come in the years to come but also when they come in the summer of 2015.”
The Pan Am games will draw more than 10,000 athletes and officials to 17 municipalities across the Golden Horseshoe area.
They kick off in July 2015.
