Fort Erie girls returned to father after Ambert Alert

Two young Fort Erie girls have been re-united with their father after they were taken from their grandmother’s house.

An Amber Alert was issued around 4 a.m. Saturday complete with a photo of the girls and a description of a vehicle belonging to their mother who does not have legal custody.

Niagara Police scoured the area and after one officer spotted a similar vehicle parked outside a motel.

Police entered the room where they found they girls with their mother.

Constable David Brennan says they believed the mother posed a threat, but would not say why.

CHCH News has learned she had an impaired driving charge laid against her this summer.

Julia Martinovs, 29, is in custody but has not been charged.
