CHCH-TV was awarded Best Television Special Report Feature at the Crime Stoppers international conference in Cape Town, South Africa.

CHCH’s vice president of news, Mike Katrycz was on hand to accept the award at this morning’s Halton Police Services Board meeting. The honour was given for CHCH’s coverage of the Crime Stoppers 25th anniversary event.

The feature was produced by long-time CHCH director Nick Olchowy. CHCH was the very first station in Canada to produce Crime Stoppers, a show that helps solve cold cases and other serious crimes. It has been remarkably successful.
