Hamilton man dies after being struck by a car

Police say that the 19-year-old man who was struck by a car Saturday night in Dundas has died.
His name is not being released. Police will only say that he is from Hamilton.
It happened near the intersection of Cootes and West Street just after 7 pm.
Police say that there is nothing to suggest that alcohol or speed played a role.
They also say that the man was crossing the street where there wasn’t a cross walk.
This is the city’s 12th traffic fatality of the year and the fourth involving a pedestrian.
There were a number of cars in the area when the man was hit.
Police are asking anyone who saw what happened to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit.
