Spooky wedding in Niagara

If you’ve fallen for someone — maybe this is the weekend to get married. If so, you may pass on the romantic wedding, and opt for something that Rachel and Kyle went for — a more ghoulish ceremony.
Rachel was walked down the aisle by ‘Jack Skellington’, the patron spirit of Halloween. The couple was married by a real minister dressed up as a witch. It’s all part of the Halloween-themed weddings offered by ‘Elope Niagara’ in Stevensville. They got the idea for the weddings last year when a couple asked them if they could get married in the chapel on Halloween.
Kim Cartmell, Elope Niagara: “So we decorated the chapel. Then my husband, who is a drywall taper, he walks on stilts and every year he dresses up as Jack. So he said ‘Well, I’ll come for their wedding if you like’. So I said sure. So he walked the bride down the aisle and posed for pictures. We put the photos on the website and it kind of evolved that everyone wants it set as Halloween now.”
Rachel and Kyle were one of three couples married Friday. And “Elope Niagara” has three weddings for Halloween day next year.
