Friends & family attend private visitation service for Cirillo

Family and friends paid respects to Corporal Nathan Cirillo Sunday evening in a private visitation service.

Another tribute of flowers and notes from strangers piled up on the lawn outside the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home on King Street East.

Tributes have been growing around the city and across the country since the 24-year-old Hamilton reservist was killed.

He was fatally shot on Wednesday as he stood guard over the war memorial on Parliament Hill.

Hamilton police and their horses stood guard and Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders stood in force.
