School friends remember Nathan Cirillo

As we continue to remember Nathan Cirillo we also have the memories shared by staff at his former Hamilton high school.

As we learn more about Corporal Cirillo, it’s clear he had a big heart and a big personality. His former teachers and coaches remembering him even years after he graduated.

Corporal Cirillo went to Sherwood Secondary School in Hamilton. Today, its staff held a meeting before the school day started. Its principal says everyone was in shock and disbelief at the war memorial shooting in Ottawa, first that it happened here in Canada. And then to find out the victim was a former Sherwood student. There were counsellors available for staff and students, but Principal Bob Pratt says everyone is leaning on one another for support by sharing positive memories of Cirillo.
