This weekend will mark a Burlington teacher’s 90th day behind bars in Indonesia.

Neil Bantleman is being held with no charges while police investigate sex abuse claims involving students.

His family says they are expecting police in indonesia to extend his time in prison for another 30 days to gather evidence.

Bantleman was detained on July 14th and hasn’t been interviewed formally by police since July 23rd.

That was also the day of his last medical and lie detector tests.

Neil’s brother, Guy Bantleman, has been providing updates throughout this process.

He says the prosecutor has told him there’s a lack of evidence and that’s why his brother has not been formally charged.

“We are very tired, Neil is obviously very tired of the situation the good news is that after 120 days it has to be resolved one way or the other. We are looking for his release after 120 days but there is a possibility they could charge him and they could hold him indefinitely until they finalize their investigation.”

Guy Bantleman says the lack of evidence is apparent.

They are hoping on the 120th day Neil will be released.
